Privacy Policy

SkoolToolz is built local-first. It works fully without an account, and by default nothing you type ever leaves your device.

Who we are

SkoolToolz is a free collection of study and school tools, operated by Playology Entertainment (“we”, “us”). It runs entirely in your web browser at playologyentertainment.com/SkoolToolz. There is no SkoolToolz account and no SkoolToolz server that stores your work.

The short version

• No account is required to use any tool.
• Your notes, flashcards, timers, drafts and settings are saved in your own browser (local storage) — not on our servers.
• We do not sell your data, show ads, or run cross-site advertising trackers.
• The only thing that leaves your device by default is anonymous, cookieless page-view counting, described plainly below.

Data you enter into the tools

Notes, flashcards, essay drafts, schedules, calculations and similar information you type into SkoolToolz are stored locally in your browser using localStorage. This data stays on your device and is under your control. Clearing your browser storage removes it. We cannot see it, and it is never sent to us.

Analytics

We use GoatCounter for basic, privacy-friendly usage statistics. GoatCounter is cookieless, does not collect personal data, and only counts aggregate page views (for example, how many people opened the site). It does not build a profile of you or track you across other sites.

Tools that fetch public information

A few tools look things up for you when you actively use them. For example, the book / reading tools can search public catalog data from services like Open Library and the Google Books API to fill in a title from an ISBN. Those requests are made from your browser to the provider, contain only what you searched for, and are subject to that provider’s own privacy policy. SkoolToolz does not attach any personal profile to them.

What we don’t do

• We don’t sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
• We don’t use your data to train models or for advertising.
• We don’t require you to create an account with us.

Students & children

SkoolToolz is an educational tool made to be used by students, including in classrooms. Because every tool runs locally, requires no account, and stores your work only in your own browser, we do not knowingly collect personal information from any user — including children. The anonymous page-view analytics described above do not identify individuals.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as SkoolToolz evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
